Welcome to the Criminology Section!

One thing I've noticed about this community over the years was that many RLSH's focus on martial arts and physical training and such - and yes, that's great - however, it's only about half of what is needed to make someone skilled enough to be able to effectively fight crime.

The other half is training your mind... Although for some odd reason, people think I mean like meditating or something. No, I mean learning things, and criminology is one of those things.

In my studies, there are the two parts of Criminology that I've studied.

When I read Criminology For Dummies, I learned about things such as the different types of crime, it's effect on both the victims, society, and how the criminal justice system deals with them, the likelihood that they will commit more crimes after being released from prison, property crimes & violent crimes, and the percentage of how much of those crimes are reported, and how many that do lead to arrests, drug crimes, gangs, blue collar crimes, grey collar crimes, white collar crimes, unsolved crimes, and so much more.

When I took a Criminology Course, I learned a lot about Criminological Theories, such as the Life Course Theories VS. Latent Trait Theories, meant are people more predisposed towards crime judging by traits present at or soon after birth, or through situations they've been through during their lives. The economy and how that can effect people, education, peer pressure, society, and even how a poor diet can effect a person's brain in such a way that could make them act in different ways, and the 5 most common psychological disorders of criminals in prison. I also learned through this course that just about any other subject you could study, could be somehow in some way, related to the study of Criminology.

I would soon like to post more topics in this section relevant to the study of Criminology. Feel free to do the same if you have any knowledge in this area, or any questions, or if you'd just like to start a discussion about this.

I think that anyone who wants to fight crime needs to know all they can about it. Criminology is a very important subject for SuperHeroes to know about.

Being a former criminal, I understand how they think. I don't see them as criminals anymore though, just as people who need just as much help as their victims, maybe more. There are no evil people. Likewise, their are no good people. So what is evil? I suggest that Evil is the ultimate Super Villain of all time. The individuals affected are not to blame, Evil is. The only way though to fight Evil is by vaccinating yourself with it's exact opposite to create a polarized-energy reaction in order to change your reality; this vaccine is Good. I see Good, and Evil, Vices and Virtues, as separate entities; energy frequencies that act like a parasite/virus on certain primitive lifeforms. In order to overcome it, we all have to work together and show others the way. This mission is too big for one man or woman. Let's save the world. Cool

I do respectfully disagree on a philosophical and religious level about people being good and evil. However, where my views can relate to your's are on are the ideas of not being so quick to judge others. If it happens to us from others, it can make it harder not to. The very confusing part about all of this is the part of "being evil" versus "making human mistakes." Good people can make mistakes. And weirdly enough I've seen bad people try to justify themselves by doing something good and trying to give themselves a positive image.

I do also see how your way has a method in the long run of stopping evil, by the idea of making them not wanting to be evil anymore. Like the Water idea, in my post about the 4 aspects of fighting evil.
